We encourage you to share them with your friends, family, co-workers, church group, girl scouts etc. They not only make great gifts for the holidays, they are a fun way to welcome a new neighbor, say thanks, make an easy dinner or side dish for the mother with the new baby, and so much more.

Herbs & Spices for
Lentil Soup

(for 1 pound of dried brown lentils)

1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp Rick's Chef Salt
1/2 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp parsley
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp summer savory
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp celery powder

To make add 6 to 8 cups water
and cook to desired firmness.

Herbs & Spices for
Split Pea Soup

(for 1 pound of dried split peas)

2 bay leaves
1 1/2 tsp Rick's Chef Salt
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp dill

1 tsp thyme
1 tsp sage
1/2 + tsp salt
1 tsp summer savory
1/2 tsp black pepper

To make add 8 to 10 cups water
and cook to desired firmness.

White Beans for Cassoulet

(for 1 pound of dried white beans)

1 bay leaf
1 pinch rosemary
1 tsp Rick's Chef Salt
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp thyme
1 tsp parsley
1/2 + tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper

To make add 8 to 10 cups water
and cook to desired firmness.

Herbs & Spices for
Risotto

(for 8oz of risotto rice)

1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp Rick's Chef Salt
1/2 tsp Italian Herbs
1/2 tsp dried parsley
1 pinch rosemary

1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
and some dried mushrooms?

To make add 3 cups water, one at a time,
and cook to desired firmness.
Add fresh meats
and vegetables as desired.

Herbs & Spices for
Fideo or Paella

(for 8oz of Fideo Pasta or Paella Rice)

1 tsp Rick's Chef Salt
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp dried parsley
1 tsp thyme
1 tsp sage
1/2 + tsp salt
1/2 tsp Spanish Paprika
pinch of saffron?

Fideo; add 2 cups water and cook to desired firmness (about 7 to 8 minutes.) Paella; add 2 1/2 to 3 cups of water and cook to desired firmness (15 to 20 minutes?) It's easy to add fresh meats & vegetables.

Herbs & Spices for
Couscous

(for 8oz of small Couscous)

1 pinch cumin
1 tsp Rick's Chef Salt
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp Italian Herbs
1 tsp parsley
1/2 + tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
pinch of saffron?

 

Bring 1 cup water to a boil, add couscous,
lid and let sit off heat for 5 minutes. Flake
with a fork when done.

Ingredients for
Pizza Dough

(for 2 medium size pizzas)

2 cups flour
2 tsp yeast
2 tsp Rick's Chef Salt
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt

Mix well, add 1 cup warm water (105° to 110°)
mix, knead, let rise once. Then roll out for pizza or shape for bread. For bread I like to sprinkle the top of the bread with Rick's Chef salt and a favorite herb or herb blend, lightly pat with water, let rise and bake. Because this mixture has yeast in it, I don't know how far ahead you
can make the dry mix and have it still rise. I haven't
let it sit for more than a few weeks!

Ingredients for
Chocolate Sauce

(for 8oz of Chocolate)

4 oz Milk Chocolate

4oz Dark Chocolate

Bring 2/3 cup water to a boil, turn off
heat and stir in chocolate till smooth.
We like the Callebaut chocolate but
Trader Joes Pound Plus is great also!
